When is the best time to prune?

Most deciduous trees prune best in late winter (dormant). Spring-flowering shrubs prune right after they bloom. Storm damage and dead wood — anytime.

Will you top my tree?

No. Topping kills tree structure and creates long-term hazards. We can crown-reduce properly to lower a tree's profile without topping it.

Do you handle large removals?

Light to medium, in-house. Anything requiring a crane, near power lines, or threatening a structure, we coordinate with insured partner crews and supervise.

What about stump grinding?

Yes — included on most removals or as a stand-alone service. We grind to 8–12 inches below grade and rake the chips back into the void.

The Approach

Most trees in suburban Illinois yards need attention every two or three years — clearance pruning over walks and drives, deadwood removal before a storm finds it, and structural cuts on younger trees to set them up for the long term. We handle pruning, trimming, and small-to-medium removals in-house. Anything that requires crane work or threatens a structure, we contract with insured tree services we trust and stay involved as general.
